Who answers when you call
This website is run by Above All Tree Services Pty Ltd, a family arborist business since 2004, working from four Sydney bases: Engadine, Ryde, Gordon and Bankstown. The phone is answered by the people who do the work, after hours too.
Above All works right across Sydney: the Sutherland Shire, St George, the inner west and eastern suburbs, the north shore and northern beaches, the Hills and western Sydney. Clients include downer (formerly spotless) — school grounds, cushman & wakefield — schools, evolve — schools, schools and construction companies, as well as thousands of homeowners. The main website has the whole team, recent jobs and Google reviews.

Qualified arborists, not cowboys with a chainsaw
Storms and cheap quotes bring out door-knockers with a ute and no insurance. This is who you get instead.
- 22 years in business. Above All Tree Services has been a family business since 2004, now seven full-time staff plus casual crew, with cranes and elevated work platforms for the hardest jobs.
- Two AQF Level 5 consulting arborists. Wayne Back and Joshua Baber hold the Diploma of Horticulture (Arboriculture), the qualification councils ask for when they want a "consulting arborist"; Josh writes the arborist reports councils ask for.
- Wayne teaches chainsaw operations at TAFE NSW part-time, and is a volunteer Deputy Captain and trainer with the NSW Rural Fire Service.
- Licensed for the dangerous bits: elevated work platforms over 11 m, Electrical Close Approach for work near service lines, and rail, ARTC and Sydney Airport inductions.
- $20 million public liability, $5 million professional indemnity and workers compensation. Ask any contractor for their certificate of currency; we'll hand you ours.
- Four bases across Sydney (Engadine, Ryde, Gordon, Bankstown), trusted by Downer (formerly Spotless) — school grounds, strata managers and schools, and we call back almost as soon as your request comes in.

The right equipment for a tree where it shouldn't be
Cranes
For big trees over houses and pools, a crane lifts whole sections clear. Often the fastest and safest option, and sometimes the cheapest overall.
Elevated work platforms
Licensed operators for EWPs over 11 m, for storm-damaged canopies that are not safe to climb.
Climbers and rigging
When a crane can't get in, pieces are roped and lowered one at a time over roofs, pools and fences.
Chippers and trucks
Everything chipped and carted away, or left as mulch or firewood if you want it.
Traffic control
For trees across roads and footpaths, with the inductions councils and rail operators require.
Barge access
On Port Hacking and the Georges River we have taken the truck and chipper across by barge for waterfront blocks.
